The Short Version
New Orleans’s closest dedicated orchid farm. 16 miles. 25 minutes. Mature blooming plants β not seedlings, not big-box re-blooms. Open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, or order online with frost-protected shipping.
We’ve been growing orchids in Belle Chasse since 2007 β 25 minutes south of downtown New Orleans across the Crescent City Connection. If you live anywhere from the French Quarter to Algiers to the West Bank, you’re closer to a working orchid farm than you probably realize.
The same Gulf humidity that makes New Orleans feel tropical in August is what makes our orchids thrive. Plants grown here transition to your courtyard, balcony, or shaded porch with almost no acclimation β they’re already used to your climate.
We supply florists in the French Quarter and Garden District, set arrangements for weddings at City Park and Audubon, and welcome individual collectors from every neighborhood. If you’ve ever bought a Phalaenopsis at a grocery store and watched it crash after six weeks, you’ll see the difference the moment you walk in.
What we grow for New Orleans collectors
Cattleyas
Fragrant, mature, blooming-size. Our largest specialty.
Vandas, Mokaras, Rhyncostylis
Mounted or basket. Tropical color, dramatic blooms.
Phalaenopsis
Specialty crosses and wedding-grade whites. Not big-box phals.
Dendrobiums
Den-phals, nobiles, antelopes. Long-blooming favorites.
Oncidiums
Dancing-lady sprays and yellow showers.
Monstera
Deliciosa, adansonii, variegated. Rare albo when available.
Philodendron
Common and rare β including Pink Princess.
Hoyas
Established, well-rooted. Rare varieties on rotation.
